Delete your WakaBid account

Version 1.0 · Effective 8 October 2026 · WakaConnect Ltd

WakaBid is the ride-hailing app operated by WakaConnect Ltd (“we”, “us”). This page explains how to ask us to delete your WakaBid account and the personal data that comes with it, what we remove, and the records we are required to keep afterwards. It applies to the WakaBid Android app and to wakabid.com.

How to request deletion

You can ask us to delete your account, and everything attached to it, in either of these two ways:

  • In the app: open WakaBid, go to Settings and tap Delete my account. That takes you to this page with the request steps.
  • By email: write to info@wakabid.com from any address, with the phone number on your WakaBid account in the message. You do not need the app to make the request.

You can also call or send a message to +234 702 537 7134 if you would rather speak to someone.

The same two routes cover a partial request: if you want some of your data removed without closing your account at all, say so in the message and we will act on it as far as the records we must keep allow.

What happens next. We act on deletion requests within 30 days. To protect you, we may first ask you to confirm the request with a one-time code sent to the phone number on the account — that is so nobody else can delete your account. If you can no longer use that number, tell us in your request and we will verify you another way.

What we delete

Once your request is verified, we delete or irreversibly anonymise:

  • your account and profile — name, email address and phone number;
  • your profile photo;
  • driver records where you had a driver account — submitted documents such as your licence, vehicle particulars and plate photographs, and their review history;
  • your payout details (the bank account used for withdrawals);
  • the list of trusted phones that could sign in without a code, so the account can no longer be opened on any device;
  • ride requests, offers and trip records that are not needed for the records described below;
  • app usage records that identify you.

What we keep, and for how long

Deleting an account does not erase everything, and it is fair to say so plainly. We keep:

  • Fare, wallet and payout records — these are financial records, and Nigerian tax and accounting law requires us to keep them for the period it sets. They are held securely, are no longer used to operate an account, and are deleted or anonymised once that period ends.
  • Records connected to an open matter — an unresolved dispute, a safety incident, a fraud investigation or a legal claim — kept until that matter is closed and any legal time limit has passed.

We never keep the data for marketing, and we do not sell it. Where data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.

Uninstalling the app does not delete your account

Removing WakaBid from your phone stops the app from opening, but your account and its data stay on our servers — the number can still be used to sign in again. If you want the account gone, make the request above.

If you have a wallet balance

If your WakaBid wallet holds a balance, mention it in your request and we will settle it with you before the account is removed. Deleting an account does not extinguish a balance you are owed.
